Beach - 15 Minute Photo Challenge

Firstly, a huge thank you to everyone who’s helped kick the new Gavtrain Facebook page off to a flying start. I know a lot of you have already become fans which is fantastic.

OK, on to today’s blog post. I get a regular stream of emails asking for me to do more 15 minute challenges so after a winters break I’m very pleased to be able to post the first 15 minute challenge of the year.

For a Beach challenge, there is not a lot of beach on the photos. Mission failed?

Depends on your point of view.

If I had set out to take one photograph that showed the whole beach I would agree, but sometimes focusing on the smaller elements that make up the whole scene can tell a bigger story.

Absolutely. This is the kind of thing that is inspiring and gets the grey matter working. Rather than taking a wide shot of the beach and thinking "that'll do" you have given me more to think about in looking for the little interesting details and pondering over things that would normally be passed by and ignored This is exactly the kind of thing I want to watch. Well done and thank you Gavin :-)

This was great! I have been in kind of a funk or slump creatively. This was so inspiring. Thank you so much!

And, btw, I think the shot of the beach through the weathered hole (#4574326343) would qualify as a success. What a great shot! Thanks for the tip about taking two with differing focus and merging in PS.

Hello Gavin.

First I must say I really like your 15 min chalanges.

And I have one question.
At last 15 min photo chaenge I noticed when you put down your camera, that you have nice smal and simple camera strap on camera to support right hand at grip. Can you tell more about that strap and where to get it ?

Thanks

Thanks Gavin, really enjoy this. As I live by the sea, it gave me a push to try some.

Thanks Gavin, this video feels like the story of my life. With a full and busy life, I find myself trying to "find" pictures to take.
